ECM at GUE

Canadian Pacific’s Every Child Matters locomotive brought a little colour to the rails today on another hazy morning in Southern Ontario. In the series of images below, CPKC’s Detroit to Toronto train no. 134 is seen making a set off at Guelph Junction for furtherance to points north on the Genesee & Wyoming’s Guelph Junction Railway (operated as GEXR). This move allowed the photographer ample opportunity to capture the attractive locomotive in charge of getting this mixed freight over the road.

In September 2021, on Canada's first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, CP unveiled the “Every Child Matters” locomotive to commemorate the victims and honour the survivors of residential schools in Canada. Nearly two years later, the locomotive continues to raise awareness as it operates across CPKC’s network.

With work at Guelph Junction complete, 8757 presses eastward as it guides train no. 134 towards its terminus at Toronto Yard; casting a reflection in a lineside millpond at Campbellville, Ontario.
