thinking of PJ

Thinking of PJ - my beloved grandfather who was born in 1933 in a small town in Saskatchewan much like this - who is currently in the hospital battling the cruelties of old age. At the time of this photo, I had called PJ to let him know I was thinking of him. We enjoyed pleasant conversation as I watched "prairie skyscrapers" pass by the dome car windows of the westbound Canadian. I couldn't help but smile as I listened to him reminisce of fond memories from the land of the living skies; names of small towns from his youth and stories of old grain elevators and harvest time. It was a small gesture to call, but Saskatchewan is where PJ's heart is, and I knew it meant a lot to him. Never forget to tell your loved ones how much you care about them; that extra phone call can make all the difference.
